    Tirupati Balaji Temple is one of the famous temple in India that is ample literary and epigraphic testimony to the antiquity of the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara. All the great dynasties of rulers of the southern peninsula have paid homage to Lord Sri Venkateswara in this ancient shrine. Peoples come to visit Tirupati Balaji Temple from many different countries. This temple is gloriously described by the Hindu scriptures as the earthly location where Lord Vishnu resides in the age of Kali. The Tirupati Balaji or Shree Venkateshwara Swami temple is the one of the most visited and important landmarks of the Hindu mythology, holding a magnificent position in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.  The Pallavas of Kancheepuram (9th century AD), the Cholas of Thanjavur (a century later), the Pandyas of Madurai, and the kings and chieftains of Vijayanagar (14th - 15th century AD) were devotees of the Lord and they competed with one another in endowing the temple with rich offerings and contributions.
    Now come to the some interesting stories from mythology say that the Lord manifested on the earth to bless the devotees during the age of Kali it is when thousands of years ago. Once, Sage Brighu wanted to evaluate who amongst the Holy Trinity was the greatest.When he checked with Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva, he was not satisfied, so he went to Vaikuntha and kicked Lord Vishnu on his chest. Goddess Lakshmi was residing in the chest of Lord Vishnu, she felt insulted and left Vaikuntha and came down to the Earth. These story are true and every hindu says that it happened long years ago. After the defeated of the hindukinkdom, the Muslim rulers of Karnataka and then the Britishers took over there, then the temples come under the control of supervisory and protected control.

The idol of Lord Venkateshwara is decorated with camphor and the devotees shave their heads as offerings to the lord. 
    The early morning prayers, known as the Subhprabhatam, start at 3 AM and continue throughout the day until the lord is laid to rest a little after midnight. The temple covers an area of about 2 acres which is the large area and whenever you walk around there the cleanliness is the main point. Festivities take place periodically when gifts are offered to the lord in Hundi, which is also the main source of income for the temple authorities. Whenever you visit there you feel amazing so visit with whole family.
